The owner of MDH, Mahasriya Dharampal Gulati, popularly known as Masala King, died this morning. He was 98 years old. It is being told that Dharampal Gulati breathed his last at 6 am on December 3 at Mata Chandan Devi Hospital in Delhi.

Monsieur Dharampal Gulati was born on 27 March 1923 in Sialkot, Pakistan and it was from here that the foundation of his spice business was laid. The company started with a small shop in the city, which his father started before partition. However, at the time of partition of the country in 1947, his family shifted to Delhi.
Honored with Padmavibhushan
Last year, President Ram Nath Kovind conferred Padma Vibhushan to Mahashay Dharampal for his contribution in business and food processing. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia also twitched on the death of Mahashay Dharampal Gulati.
